asked the Minister for Labour the current surplus in the Redundancy Fund.

It is estimated that the surplus in the Redundancy Fund at 31st March, 1970, was £1,288,000.

This is the fund the Minister's predecessor said would not give extra benefits because it would barely pay its way: he is gone now.

It is impossible to predict.

It was predicted in England.
