In the year 1969-70, the number of Land Project applications received in County Galway was 1,721; the area reclaimed was 7,881 acres and £209,507 in grants was paid to farmers. The corresponding figures for County Roscommon were—applications received, 844; area reclaimed, 3,757 acres; and grants paid to farmers, £81,433.
