Vol. 252 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Closure of Industries.

36.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the total number of industrial undertakings which closed during the past six months; the number of employees involved; and the total amount of grants involved.

Eleven industrial undertakings came to my notice as having closed during the past six months and the total number of employees involved was about 610. Grants had been paid in seven out of the 11 cases and the total amount of these grants was £373,785. As regards one of the larger of these undertakings, I would refer the Deputy to the answer given to Questions Nos. 22 and 23 on the Order Paper on 10th March, 1971.
