Vol. 256 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Parking Fines.

156.

asked the Minister for Justice the amount collected by way of parking fines in respect of Dublin city in the most recent 12 month period for which figures are available.

The amount of money remitted to my Department during the period 1st October, 1970, to 30th September, 1971, in respect of payments made under the "fines-on-the-spot" scheme for parking offences in Dublin city was £156,810.

I am not in a position to state the amount paid in respect of fines imposed by the courts for parking offences as these fines are not recorded separately but are included with fines paid in respect of all offences under the Road Traffic Acts and the Roads Act.
