Vol. 257 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry School.

59.

asked the Minister for Education if money has been allocated during the current financial year for a new school at Emlaghmore, County Kerry; and when work on the school will commence.

I presume the Deputy's question refers to the proposed new central school at Ballinskillegs which will replace the existing schools at Ballinskillegs and Emlaghmore and will also serve as an Irish college during the summer vacation period. The position is that sketch plans for the new-school are at present under examination in the Office of Public Works. It is not possible to say at this stage when work will commence.
