asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will consider including in his certification scheme for cereals seeds from abroad proved to be suitable for profitable growing by Irish farmers.

Five of the eight varieties included in the cereals certification scheme this year are of foreign origin. A large number of imported varieties are at present under test along with home-bred varieties, with a view to selecting the varieties most suited to Irish conditions.
