Vol. 261 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dairy Products Research.

55.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if, in view of the fact that the present subsidy paid on the export of dairy products is no longer required due to entry into EEC, he will consider allocating a substantial part of it for the research and development of new dairy products.

It has already been announced that the Exchequer savings arising from membership of the European Communities will be available to finance economic development and improvements in the social services.

All types of economic development, including development in the dairying sector, will of course, fall to be considered in this connection.
