andDr. O'Connell asked the Minister for Local Government the manner in which city and county managers were authorised to increase the rents of local authority houses by up to 25p per week in any one year without ministerial sanction.

In a circular letter which issued on 20th February, 1969, local authorities were informed that specific approval would not be necessary to increases in the maxima of differential rent scales not exceeding 25p a week in any year to meet increases in maintenance, administration, insurance and other costs for which the authority are liable.
