Vol. 263 No. 3

Written Answers. - EEC Regulation on Animal Feeds.

226.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the main provisions and implications for Ireland of the draft EEC directive C. 63, 15.6 1972 on the introduction of community sampling and analysis techniques for official inspection of animal feeds; and if the provisions have been discussed with the relevant interests in Ireland.

The directive removed the time limit of 18 months prescribed in 1970 for the submission of proposals to a standing committee in respect of sampling and analysis of animal feeding stuffs. Ireland will not be represented on this committee until after our accession to EEC.
