asked the Taoiseach the present level of unemployment in Ireland at the latest available date; and if he is in a position to state the Government's policy to reduce it.

The number on the live register at local employment offices on the 16th March, 1973, the latest date for which figures are available, was 73,007. Government policy designed to promote employment is under consideration.
