Vol. 265 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Breathalyser Cases.

43.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will make a statement concerning breathalyser cases under the Road Traffic Act, 1968 Regulations; if his attention has been drawn to the Supreme Court decision in the case of a person (name supplied) which held that the Regulations were not complied with; and if he intends to amend the regulations.

The text of the Supreme Court judgement relating to the interpretation of certain aspects of the Road Traffic Acts, 1968, (Part V) Regulations, 1969, is at present being considered by my Department with a view to taking whatever steps are necessary to enable the breathalyser procedures to operate effectively.
