Vol. 266 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Environmental Health Hazards Surveys.

43.

asked the Minister for Labour how it is proposed to extend the surveys initiated by the previous Government on the environmental health hazards in industry such as noise, dust, fumes, radiation and toxic chemicals.

Surveys have been carried out on ionizing radiations and noise levels. Surveys of lead and asbestos hazards are at present in progress and surveys of other potentially dangerous materials will be undertaken when these have been completed. A flexible programme has been drawn up which can be altered as the need arises.
