Vol. 267 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Offaly Estates.

20.

asked the Minister for Lands when the following estates in County Offaly will be divided: (a) the Bracken estate, Ballina, Ballycumber (b) the Bermingham estate, Ballycumber and (c) the Lowe estate, Ballycumber.

(Cavan): The Land Commission have discontinued the proceedings for the acquisition of the Bracken holding, which comprises 11 acres and shares. The question of its division does not therefore arise.

Regarding the Bermingham farm, the preparation of proposals for division must await the outcome of the acquisition proceedings which have reached the stage where the question of price only remains to be finally determined.

Possession of the Lowe property has passed to the Land Commission but arrangements cannot be made for its division in the current year. However all possible steps will be taken to avoid any unnecessary delay.
