I am advised that RTE planned to provide transposers for improving television reception in the areas mentioned by the Deputy during the current financial year. As a result of tests and surveys which have been carried out during the past six months, unexpected technical difficulties arising from the unusual local topographical features have come to light. Accordingly, RTE say that it may not be possible to provide the transposers by 31st March next.
