Vol. 267 No. 12

Written Answers. - County Wexford Houses.

228.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (1) the number of local authority houses built in each of the last three years in County Wexford and (2) the number of houses which it is proposed to build this year and their location in the county.

The numbers of local authority houses completed in County Wexford in the financial years 1970-71, 1971-72 and 1972-73 were 93, 190 and 38 respectively. Thirty-eight houses were completed in the first quarter of the current financial year—16 in Duncannon; 12 in Fethard; six in Kilmore village and four rural cottages. At the 30th June, 1973, 322 houses were under construction and there were 393 houses in schemes at tender stage. As the planning and execution of almost all of these schemes is now a matter for the housing authorities, I am not in a position to give the total number of houses which will be completed in the county this year or details of the number of houses in individual schemes which will be completed this year. No doubt if the Deputy gets in touch with the housing authorities concerned they will be able to supply him with more detailed information.
