Vol. 267 No. 12

Written Answers. - Continental Shelf Act.

111.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the steps that have been taken in regard to the Continental Shelf Act, 1968, to designate the rights of the State with regard to exploration of natural resources off the east coast of Ireland.

As I recently informed the Deputy in reply to a previous question by him, a large section of our Continental Shelf has been designated by way of orders made under the Continental Shelf Act, 1968. This section includes an area off the east coast comprising approximately 5,400 sq. kilometres.
