Vol. 268 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - CIE Pension Scheme.

25.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power when CIE propose to introduce a new pension scheme for employees.

Under section 44 of the Transport Act, 1950, the onus is on CIE to make proposals to me for both new superannuation schemes and the amendment of existing superannuation schemes.

There are no proposals before me at the moment for completely new superannuation schemes in CIE. There are, however, a number of proposals for the amendment of both wages grades and clerical and supervisory grades pension schemes to give improved benefits. These are under examination and I expect to be in a position to give decisions on them shortly.
