Vol. 268 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Explosion.

52.

asked the Minister for Justice the steps that have been taken to determine the cause of an explosion that occurred soon after 1 a.m. on the morning of 2nd November, 1973 in the Rathfarnham area, Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

While a number of people in the Rathfarnham area reported to the Garda that they heard what was thought to be an explosion some distance away at the time referred to in the question, Garda inquiries into the matter have failed to establish an explanation for the reports.

Might it have been the helicopter from the operation of the day before breaking the sound barrier?
