Vol. 268 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Phibsboro (Dublin) Post Office.

16.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the dimensions of that part of Phibsboro Post Office, Dublin, used by citizens.

17.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will provide a new post office at Phibsboro, Dublin.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 16 and 17 together. The area on the public side of the counter in the present post office at Phibsboro measures 20 feet by eight feet. The erection of a new district sorting office at the rear of the post office is almost completed and the Office of Public Works will shortly commence work on the second stage of the scheme—the demolition of the existing premises and the provision of a new and larger public office.

When is that likely to be completed?

It should be completed in approximately two years.
