Vol. 268 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Finglas (Dublin) Postal Service.

18.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs why normal post office services have not been available to persons formerly catered for by the sub-post office at Fitzmaurice Road, Finglas, Dublin; and how long this position has obtained.

Ballygall Road East sub-post office, also known as Fitzmaurice Road, has been closed temporarily since 29th August last pending the conclusion of investigations into accounting questions. It is hoped that the investigations will be completed shortly. In the meantime, special arrangements have been made for the payment of social welfare benefits by departmental staff at the office on Fridays and on the first Tuesday of each month. The area generally is well served with sub-post offices. There are three within about a half mile of Ballygall Road East.
