Vol. 271 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Car Tax Office.

91.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will provide a car tax office on the south side of Dublin.

The opening of a second motor taxation office in the Dublin area is a matter for decision by the licensing authority in the first instance.

Were there any proposals to establish such an office in Dundrum and, if so, would the Minister approve it?

No proposals have come to me. This would be a matter for the corporation concerned.

Might I suggest to the Minister that he checks with his officials to find out if such proposals have been made?

I am sure there have not been because there is no such information in my brief. Last year Dublin County Council advocated opening an office in the Town Hall in Dún Laoghaire. Is that what the Deputy is talking about?
