asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (a) the total cost of providing and installing the pole-barriers erected at the Kildare Street and Merrion Street entrances to Leinster House (b) the total cost of providing and installing the new electrically-operated barriers which replaced them and are at present installed at these entrances and (c) particulars of payments made or to be made to the firm supplying the barriers.

The pole-barriers erected at the Kildare Street and Merrion Street entrances to Leinster House were supplied and installed by one firm at a total cost of £900 approximately.

The total cost of the electrically operated barriers was £19,500 approximately, of which £15,000 approximately was paid to the firm who supplied and installed them, the balance being spent on building, and so on, work to prepare the sites.
