Vol. 278 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - TV Health Hazard.

15.

(Dublin Central) asked the Minister for Health if he is satisfied that colour television sets do not constitute a health hazard when viewed in a confined space; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There is a theoretical hazard from all television receivers and while this is increased in the case of colour television I am advised that with suitable shielding the radiation reaching the viewer is insignificant and that there is no reason to believe that acceptable levels of radiation are exceeded.

Question No. 16 is being taken as a written reply.
