Vol. 279 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Glen of Aherlow Mineral Deposits.

60.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce when the mineral deposits recently discovered in the Glen of Aherlow, County Tipperary, will be worked; and the action he has taken to date on the matter.

The area in question is included in Area No. 464 granted under prospecting licence to Denison Mines Limited of Toronto, Canada. Particulars of this licence are shown in the report under the Minerals Development Acts laid before the House on 7th March, 1975. The licensee is required to carry out work programmes in the licence area and to lodge reports of work done under the licence. The information contained in these reports is confidential unless the licensee agrees to its release and the Deputy will appreciate that it would not be proper for me to make a statement in the matter.
