Vol. 284 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Youghal Public Lighting.

24.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position with regard to the proposed new main route public lighting system for the town of Youghal, County Cork.

Cork County Council has been informed that there is no objection to the revised proposals prepared for this scheme.

Is the Minister aware that these lights were removed in the main street of Youghal and that the main street is now in virtual darkness and has been so for almost a year?

Yes. The Deputy did not hear me. We have informed Cork County Council that there is no objection to the revised proposal prepared for the scheme.

When will the work be done—that is what I am asking?

It is a matter for Cork County Council. We are waiting to hear from them. As far as we are concerned, we have told them that there is no objection to the proposal they have now made.
