asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the proposals he has for the establishment of advance factories in County Clare in 1975.

89.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if there are any proposals for the establishment of new industrial projects in County Clare in 1975.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 88 and 89 together.

I have been informed by the Shannon Free Airport Development Co. Ltd. that they propose to build advance factory bays at Kilrush and at Ennistymon and that it is hoped to commence construction towards the end of this year or early next year.

I have also been informed by SFADCo that six new industrial projects have been approved for various locations in County Clare which between them have an employment potential of about 1,090 jobs. Two of these with an employment potential of 115 have begun recruitment and three others, involving an employment potential of 528 jobs, are expected to start towards the end of the year. The other project which has an employment potential of 450 is scheduled to start about April, 1976.

Expansions have been approved in the case of five industrial concerns throughout the country, involving an additional employment potential of 395 jobs. Some of these jobs will be filled this year.
