Vol. 284 No. 5

Written Answers. - County Carlow Water Grants.

111.

asked the Minister for Local Government the reason why water grants have not been paid to two persons (names supplied) in County Carlow who have provided private water supplies for their houses.

A grant of £50 has been allocated to the first named person on the basis of costs common to the provision of a domestic and farmyard supply. Arrangements are being made to pay the grant.

The second named person is living in a house provided by Carlow County Council. A grant was not allocated in this case as the council proposed to provide a water supply. The question of a grant is being re-examined in consultation with the council.
