Vol. 286 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Markers and Buoys.

14.

asked the Minister for Finance if his Department received any requests for the provision of markers and buoys in Portrunny Bay, Lough Ree; and, if so, if they will be provided in the coming year.

A number of requests for the placing of buoys to mark a route from the main Shannon navigation channel to Portrunny Bay in Lough Ree have been received.

There are no proper berthing facilities for cabin cruisers in the bay. Because of this and of natural hazards it is not considered advisable to mark this route for cruisers.
