The relationship between the world and the Community prices for sugar varies in accordance with fluctuations in the world price. For some time past that price has in fact been close to the Community intervention price level.
When the Commission's price proposal for 1976 come before the Council of Ministers, it will be my aim to ensure a level of prices which will give an adequate return to Irish beet growers.
