With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 134 to 136, inclusive, and No. 138 together.

My Department have sanctioned grants towards the cost of two 16-classroom national schools in the Finglas South area. The first school at Glenties Park, Finglas, known as Rivermount national school, came into operation on 7th January, 1975. The average enrolment of pupils for the December quarter, 1975, was 742.

A contract has been placed and work will commence shortly on the erection of the second school. The building should be ready for occupation early in 1977.

Free transport to schools outside the area is being provided for all pupils who cannot be accommodated in Rivermount school, pending the erection of the second school. Some 640 pupils are being conveyed at present under this arrangement.
