Vol. 291 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Unemployment Assistance Applicant.

9.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary was refused unemployment assistance; and how means of £10 per week were calculated in his case.

Unemployment assistance is not payable to the person concerned on his application of 26th November, 1975 as his weekly rate of means, as assessed for unemployment assistance purposes by a deciding officer and subsequently confirmed by an appeals officer, exceeds the maximum weekly rate of assistance which would be payable in his case. His means for unemployment assistance purposes consist of the estimated value to him of free board and lodging on his father's holding of about 100 acres, the rateable valuation of which is £69.75, and which carries a considerable mixed stock.
