An application has been received from the chairman of the board of management of Carriganima national school, Macroom, County Cork for the installation of a heating system at the school. As this is a two-teacher school a grant towards the cost of installing central heating is not allowable. However, the sanction of a grant towards the cost of such minimum works as would provide adequate heating in the school would be considered and I am arranging to have the Commissioners of Public Works advise my Department in this regard.
