Vol. 294 No. 7

Written Answers. - Unemployment Assistance.

55.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why unemployment assistance has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

The person concerned was entitled only to a reduced rate of unemployment benefit from 4th September, 1976, but, due to a local office error which is regretted, he received payment at a higher rate than he was entitled to up to 3rd November, 1976. Payment was temporarily held up while inquiries were in progress concerning the adjustment to be made. Payment has however now been resumed, and payment of all arrears due to him since that date, less the amount overpaid, was made to him last week.

Further payments will continue as they fall due.
