asked the Minister for Social Welfare the outcome of the appeal by a person (details supplied) in County Laois against a decision not to grant him unemployment assistance for which he first signed on 4th August, 1976.
Written Answers. - Unemployment Assistance.

The appeals officer who considered the appeal of the person concerned assessed his weekly rate of means for unemployment assistance purposes at £10.00. Arrangements have been made to have all arrears of unemployment assistance due to him as a result paid during the current week at the weekly rate of £4.90—that is the maximum rate of £14.90 applicable in his case less his weekly rate of means. An appeals officer's decision is final in the absence of new facts or fresh evidence.
