Vol. 297 No. 11

Written Answers. - Tramore Garda Station.

31.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the recent collapse of the ceiling in Tramore Garda Station, County Waterford, and of the very bad state of repair of the station; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

About one square foot of plaster fell recently from the corner of a ceiling in Tramore Garda Station. The damaged area is being repaired. The rest of the ceiling is sound.

While this building is old and falls short of present-day standards of Garda accommodation, I do not accept that it is in a very bad state of repair. I am advised that it is structurally sound and that it is being, and will continue to be, adequately maintained until it can be replaced by the proposed new station to which I referred in reply to the Deputy's question on 8th February, 1977.
