76.

asked the Minister for Health the number of medical cards issued as at 31st December, 1976; and the number of persons covered by these cards.

The number of medical cards current on 31st December, 1976, was 637,617 and they covered 1,193,909 persons.

77.

asked the Minister for Health the latest guidelines adopted by health boards in determining eligibility for medical cards; and the date from which these guidelines have operated.

The following are the income guidelines which have been adopted by the chief executive officers of the health boards to assist in determining eligibility for medical cards:
