The planning of an extension to Moneenageisha vocational school to enable it to cater for 800 pupils is well advanced—the current enrolment is 624 pupils. It is expected that the building of the extension will begin early next year and will be completed in 1979.
It is considered that this extension, in conjunction with the number of second-level places available in Galway city generally, will meet the second-level educational needs of the area for a few years. It is expected that a further second-level school will be required in the area in due course and the situation is being kept under review.
