Vol. 300 No. 8

Written Answers. - Unemployment Assistance.

360.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange to have unemployment assistance paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

Unemployment assistance is not payable to the person concerned as it has been held by a deciding officer that his means calculated in accordance with the Unemployment Assistance Acts and regulations exceed the statutory limit applicable in his case. He has appealed against this decision and the appeals officer to whom the case was referred has requested that further inquiries be made into the applicant's circumstances. As soon as these inquiries are completed the case will be re-submitted to the appeals officer for decision.
