Vol. 301 No. 8

Written Answers. - Mayo Industry.

305.

asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy the efforts that have been made to date to attract a suitable industry to Ballinrobe, County Mayo, for the provision of much needed jobs there.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that urgent attention is being given to securing new industrial projects for the two advance factories in Ballinrobe which were vacated in July and October, 1976. Potential promoters of industrial projects have been taken to visit the factories on 15 separate occasions but no positive proposals have resulted to date. I can assure the Deputy, however, that every effort will continue to be made to attract new industry to the town.
