Vol. 302 No. 10

Written Answers. - Children Sleeping Rough.

91.

asked the Minister for Health the number of children sleeping rough in Dublin; and the plans his Department have to meet the problem.

In a situation where the number of such children fluctuates continuously it is not possible to furnish a precise figure in reply to the Deputy's question. I am informed, however, that the number in the Dublin area who sleep rough on a regular basis is small—probably less than 10.

During the past year funds have been made available to the Eastern Health Board to enable the board to assist voluntary organisations which provide accommodation to cope with this problem.
