: My Department have received representation from a number of telephone subscribers in the area served by Enfield sub-post office exchange where service is restricted as a result of a strike by assistants at the sub-office who normally operate the telephone switchboards. The assistants concerned are employed by the postmaster and it would be inappropriate for me, therefore, to intervene in the dispute which is between the postmaster and his employees.
