Vol. 307 No. 14

Written Answers . - Assistance to Meath Firm .

100.

asked the Minister for Labour when payments under the scheme of assistance to labour-intensive industries, due to come into operation in April, will be made to a firm (details supplied), in County Meath, where substantial redundancies have recently been announced.

: Discussions have been taking place over the past couple of months between officials of my Department, the Department of Industry, Commerce and Energy and representatives of the Commission of the European Communities concerning the £5 subsidy scheme. These discussions are now at an advanced stage and I hope to have final clearance on the scheme shortly.

The details of the scheme and the necessary application form will be forwarded to the company as soon as they become available.
