Vol. 308 No. 5

Written Answers. - Widows and Orphans Pensions Scheme.

438.

asked the Minister for the Environment when it is proposed to make provisions for the implementation of the new widows and orphans pension scheme; and when a person (details supplied) in County Kerry may expect to receive payments arising from this pension scheme.

Details of a new widows and orphans pension scheme for local authority manual workers were issued by my Department on 10 May 1978. I have been informed by the Southern Health Board that in the case referred to by the Deputy they have forwarded the necessary forms relating to the scheme to the widow of the employee concerned and that on the completion and return of these forms they will consider urgently the question of the payment of a pension.
