Vol. 309 No. 10

Written Answers. - North Tipperary Veterinary Facilities.

311.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will establish a district veterinary office in north Tipperary, as many farmers there are up to 70 miles from the existing office for their area, and that great inconvenience has been caused thereby since the introduction of the 30 day test; and if there has been any increase since the introduction of this test in the number of veterinary office staff serving north Tipperary.

The question of establishing a district veterinary office in north Tipperary is not at present under consideration. Whilst no extra staff has recently been appointed in the Tipperary office the staff at this and all other district veterinary offices will be augmented as necessary, to ensure the effective implementation of the accelerated disease eradication programme.
