Vol. 310 No. 7

Written Answers. - Telephone Rental Allowance.

215.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will now arrange to have free telephone rental allowance made available to a person (details supplied) in County Dublin, in view of the fact that she lives alone for a considerable portion of the year.

The person in question applied for free telephone rental allowance in April 1978. Her application had to be disallowed because she was not in receipt of a living alone allowance. If the pensioner makes a claim for a living alone allowance and the application is successful she will be granted the free telephone rental allowance provided she continues to satisfy the remaining conditions of the scheme.
