Vol. 312 No. 5

Written Answers. - Postponement of Sentence.

189.

asked the Minister for Justice if he could consider sympathetically the postponement of the sentence on a person in Donegal (details supplied) who has been in poor health and has been in the intensive care unit of a hospital.

In view of the exceptional circumstances created by the postal dispute, I am accepting the question as a petition on behalf of the person concerned. I will deal with it as if the petition had been submitted to me in the normal way and I will communicate my decision to the Deputy later.

There are set procedures for having petitions dealt with and in normal circumstances I could not accept petitions in the form of parliamentary questions.
