I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority and the Shannon Free Airport Development Company that the total number of jobs approved for grant assistance in North Tipperary in the years 1977 and 1978 were 619 and 44 respectively.
It is estimated on the basis of the IDA annual employment surveys that manufacturing employment in North Tipperary increased by 230 in the year 1977. No comparable data are yet available for the year 1978.
