Vol. 313 No. 13

Written Answers. - Veterinary Surgeon Nominations.

275.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will ensure that in schemes such as the bovine eradication scheme, where a time limit exists for notification of veterinary surgeon nominations, the 1979 departmental lists will be amended to include nominations now held up by the Post Office workers' industrial action.

Arrangements are now being made for the issue to veterinary practitioners of the lists of herds to be tested under the bovine tuberculosis and brucellosis eradication schemes. Amendments have already been made in these lists in the case of herdowners who notified their district veterinary offices by 23 March 1979 that they had changed their practitioners. The lists for the next round of testing and sampling will include amendments in respect of notifications received after that date.
