Vol. 314 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway National School.

10.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that a national school in County Galway (details supplied) is entitled to a fourth school teacher and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The enrolment at the school in question does not warrant the appointment of a fourth teacher (third assistant) there at present. An average enrolment of 115 for the periods specified in the Rules for National Schools is needed for this appointment. The actual average enrolment for the quarters ended 31 December 1978 and 31 March 1979 was 102.3 and 101 respectively.
