asked the Minister for the Environment if, in view of the urgent need for improved water supply at Swinford, County Mayo, he will sanction the preliminary report.

I approved the local authority's preliminary proposals for this scheme on 4 May 1979.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a further tender from Mayo County Council for Charlestown sewerage scheme has been received recently and if he will sanction same.

Proposals were submitted by Mayo County Council on 19 June last for the acceptance of a tender for the construction of this scheme. These are at present being examined in my Department and I hope to convey a decision thereon to the local authority shortly.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is in a position to sanction any stage of the Ballina Main Drainage Scheme.

I approved contract documents for this scheme in July 1978 and the acceptance of a tender for the mechanical plant contract in March last. There are no further proposals in connection with the scheme before my Department at present.
